Hispanic Dreamers are in Demand as Teachers in the U.S.

Spanish Dreamers, a name given to Latin Immigrants who are covered by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals DACA, are much sought after by Teach for America to work as teachers in schools in the U.S.

Teach for America is an organization dedicated to the recruitment and preparation of future teachers in low income communities. According to DACA Director, Viridiana Carrizales, these Hispanic Dreamers are well prepared to teach Spanish speaking students.

The National Center of Educational Statistics reported that in spite of the fact that more than 24 of public school students are Hispanic, only 8 within the system of Latin teachers are fluent in Spanish.
