Ms. Yang was born in Kwangju, South Korea. She was raised in Houston, Texas during her initial childhood, and later returned to live in Kwangju, South Korea. She double-majored in English Literature and English/Korean Interpretation and Translation at Kyung-Hee University in Seoul, South Korea. She was an official Interpreter and VIP Aide at numerous public functions, including the 1999 Seoul International Conference of NGOs.

Ms. Yang received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in 2005. She was an active participant in Mock Trial and Legal Negotiations competitions. She was also a Law Student Instructor for two years for the Houston Bar Association’s 8th Grade Mock Trial Program, teaching 8th grade students the aspects and components of a trial, and later helping them conduct their own mock trials based on their studies. She was also fully trained as a Mediator by the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center.

Prior to joining Reina and Bates Immigration Law Group as an Associate Attorney in September of 2008, Ms. Yang practiced Immigration law in Houston,Texas, specializing in Employment-Based Immigration. She is experienced in advising and helping clients secure and maintain U.S. work-related visas, including H-1B, P-1/P-3, O-1, R-1 visas, etc, and also foreign investment-related E and L visas. Ms. Yang has extensive experience in PERM, EB1-A Persons of Extraordinary Ability, EB1-B Outstanding Professors and Researchers, and National Interest Waiver (NIW) cases.  Since joining the firm, she has successfully handled removal cases concerning 212(h) and 237(a)(1)(H) waivers and cancellation of removal cases before the immigration courts.  She has acquired a comprehensive knowledge of Family-Based immigration matters before both Citizenship and Immigration Services and U.S. Consulates.

Ms. Yang was admitted to practice in the State of Texas in 2006. She is fluent in Korean and is conversational in Spanish. Ms. Yang also enjoys running, sky-diving, and reading in her spare time.
