Green Cards Not Always Have A Signature

USCIS has informed the public that all Permanent Resident or Green Cards not always will have the holder’s signature. In some cases and in the case of children under the age of 18 and people who are unable to provide a signature, the signature requirements may be waived.

Since February 2015, the signature requirement for people entering the United States for the first time as lawful permanent residents after obtaining an immigrant visa abroad from a U.S. Embassy or consulate.  When cards are issued without a signature it will indicate that the “Signature is Waived “on the front and back where the signature would appear.

Green Cards are the official documents issued by USCIS that identifies that the holder is recognized as a lawful permanent resident of the United States with permission to work legally in this country.
