Government To Tighten Immigration Policy For H-1B Visas

The government recently took another step to tighten its immigration policy and put more restrictions on the issuance of H-1B and H-2B visas  for foreign professional and temporary workers respectively.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Department of Justice announced an agreement of understanding to prosecute employers who commit fraud in hiring foreigners and do not favor American workers.

The agreement of understanding between the two departments will not necessarily hinder the assignment or delivery of visas.  It will allow the immigration service to detect abuses and if a suspicion arises, immediately send the information to the Department of Justice to investigate and if necessary, proceed to criminally prosecute employers who abuse the H-1B and H-2B visa system.
