Dreamers Deadline Rejected by Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the request of the Trump administration to  bypass a federal  appeals court  decision, giving the approximately 800,000 young undocumented immigrants protected under the DACA policy and living in fear of being deported,  hope that a solution can still be found to their situation.

For a Supreme Court ruling to be made, this case will have to work itself through the lower courts, this could take months before Congress takes the issue up again.

After canceling DACA, the president had set a deadline for Congress until March 5 to pass a law that permanently regularize the status of the Dreamers.

Shortly thereafter, he conditioned the signing of a law to  include a path to citizenship for the 8 million of dreamers, $25 million to increase border security, reduce legal immigration, cancel the visa lottery, eliminate Undocumented immigration, accelerate deportations and build the wall along the Mexican border.

When you consult with an immigration attorney it is important that you are able to speak with an actual attorney.

No one besides an attorney is able to give you legal advice, even an attorney’s assistant cannot give you legal advice, you must speak with an actual licensed attorney.

You must also be able to understand the attorney. The attorney must either speak a language you understand or have a competent interpreter that will allow you to understand what the attorney is saying.
